Introduction of Our Town 3/3 (by students in Cross-cultural Communication class)

Scenery from a bridge

This is a bridge in front of a letterpress print company. We can see beautiful scenery here. And we can see attractions of an amusement park in the distance. Many people pass here running, walking with pets and so on. And trains pass under this bridge. (Taira Ohira)

Oakwood

This is Oakwood, a pastry shop in Kasukabe. It is a 21-minute walk from Kasukabe Station. Oakwood is a shop that aims to make sweets that value the deliciousness of the ingredients. My recommendation is Eclate, a cake that uses raspberry and pistachio butter cream to enjoy two flavors at once. It's also a lovely cake that looks cute. Whole cakes are recommended for celebrations and birthdays. In adittion, baked goods such as leaf pie and florentine are also on sale. Please visit and see. (Ena Takahashi)

Onuma Park

This picture is a big park in Kasukabe. It is Onuma Park. Children can play in the park. There are a baseball park, a soccer field, a gym. The baseball park and the soccer field can be rented by children and adults. In the gym you can play table tennis, basketball, or dance. Also there are a tennis court and a walking path, too. (Koki Shinozuka)

AEON

AEON is the biggest shoppin mall in Kasukabe. In AEON there are different kinds of shops like restaurants, arcades, grocery stores, and, of course, a lot of clothes stores. On weekends the mall is full of amilies and young people. I also go there often with my friends after school. AEON is not only love by the people who live in Kasukabe but by people living outside Kasukabe. (Labiqa)

River in Sugito

This picture shows a big river in Sugito Town. It is Furutone River. At this river, Ryutou Festival is held at the end of August every year. This festival floats paper lanterns on the river. The view is full of beauty and fantasy. I am looking forward to this festival. (Atsumasa Hosone)

Ma Mere Ange

I introduce you Ma Mere Ange. I was interested because my name was included in the name of the shop. This shop is a cake shop. There are many delicious sweets in this shop. I tried to find out why the name Ange (sounds like "Anju") was in the name. Actually, Ange means an angel in French. That's why the name Ange is used even in the store's products. I'm glad. I'd like to celebrate my next birthday with a cake of Ma Mere Ange. (Anju Saito)

Cocos

This is a Japanese "family restaurant." Showa High School students often go there. We eat lunch and study there. It has menus such as beef steak, hamburg steak or Japanese food. I love "Cocosh" very much. (Rin Katsumata)

Yumoto Onsen

This picture is Kasukabe Yumoto hot spring. This facility includes hot springs, pools, an arcade, restaurants, and nap rooms. You can take a sound rest. There is also a warm water pool where children can play. There are two restaurants. I recommend hot pan cake. You can sleep in the nap rooms if you are tired. This facility is a place where you can play all day long. (Arisa Nomoto)

Showa Gymnasium

I introduce Showa Gymnasium near Showa High School. We sometimes use it. Also, it holds various ocnferences. This gym is used for both indoor sports and hard excercises. Please visit there if you have time. (Mina Torii)

 Don Quijote (Donki)

It is near my house. It is a big supermarket. There are a lot of items. Not only Japanese but also foreign people visit there. It is crowded at night. The night of the shop is lively. (Nana Dao)

There are food, clothes, electrical appliances, and furniture. When I want something, I immediately go to Donki. (Yousuke Iigo)

NOVA

I introduce an English conversation school. It's called NOVA. It is near Kasukabe Station. I go there once a week. There are 6 teachers. They are American, British and Australian teachers. I can take different teachers' classes every week. Each teacher is very funny and kind. So I enjoy learning English. I can learn not only English but also other languages such as Korean, German and French in online classes. If you want to learn English, I recomment NOVA. (Momoka Tanie)

Lala Garden

Lala garden is a small outlet shopping mall in Kasukabe City. On the first floor, there are many clothes shop and variety stores. On the third floor, there are restaurants, amusement arcades and a movie theater. Lala Garden is near the west exit of Kasukabe Station. There are people who often come there with their family and friends. I also go there to watch movies with my friends. Go there if you have a chance. (Kotono Hasegawa)

Introduction of Our Town 1/3 (by students in Cross-cultural Communication class)

Students who take the 3rd-year class, "Cross-cultural Communicaiton" report what they found in Showa High School neiborhoods.

Minami Sakurai Station

It is the nearest stawtion from Showa High School and many of the students use it every day. There are a convenience store on the first floor and a ticket gate and a sport gym on the second floor. There are two lines at Minami Sakurai Station and it has been 64 years since it was built.(Atsushi Kato)

Seven Town

Seven town has a large parking lot and many facilities. Also, there are many stores in Seven Town. At each store is put antiseptic solution and droplet-protecting sheets for covid-19 prevention.(Shin-ya Endo)

Yamada Denki

Many home appliances and video games are sold here. What they sell here is cheaper than other shops. You can actually touch what is sold. I bought a smart phone here. There is also a cafe so you can take a break while waiting. If you have any questions, you can ask the shop staff. I often ask about personal computers. I think it's fun for people who like electronic devices. (Yuki Sato)

 Kodomono Machi (Children's Town)

Kodomono Machi is a facility that operates two orphnages, "Children's Town" and "Angel Home." The residents here range from nursery school children to 18-year-old students. There are many reasons why they are here, including divorce, illness, and abuse. Sadly, they live in this facility mainly due to abuse. But on their way home from school, they are always playing a lot. This is because they build a relationship and trust as friends and family as they live together for a long time. I think that is a warm relationship. (Tomoki Saito)

Ito Yokado

This is a department store near Kasukabe Staiton. It has from the basement to the fifth floor. It has a suupermarket, an arcade, a 100 yen shop, and so on. It's used by both elderly and young people. Purikura (an instant photo booth) and a tapioca shop are popular among young people. (Kohane Takahashi)

 Windmill

This is a windmill in Matsubushi Town. It is in a big park. You can go up and see a beautiful view. It's a good place to see the first sunrise on New Year's Day. There is a pond near the windmill where you can enjoy fishing. This park is so large that I think it's perfect for a walk, outdoor play and running. If you have a chance, please go there. (Runa Kikuchi)

 Odako (big kite)

This is Odako displayed in Showa Park. Odako is used for Odako festiva on May 3 and 5. A replica is displayed in Showa Park. The Chinese characters on it are different every year. I also introduce a must food: Odakoyaki. You can have it at Nanaya near Ushijima Station. Odakoyaki is shaped in square and the Chinese characters "Odako" are marked on it with mayonaise. (Yuna Miyata)

Rakuraku-marche

This supermarket is "Rakurakumarche." It's the nearest supermarket from Showa High School. They sell lots of vegetables, meat, drinks and many more. Also, this supermarket sells many kinds of things unique to Showa. (Sarina Fujiki)

Gacha-gacha nomori

This place is called "Gacha-gacha no mori." "Gacha-gacha" means capsuled toys, and "mori" means forest. Here, you can get capsuled toys. THere are over 50 kinds of capsuled toy machines. The price is from 200 yen to 400 yen for one. You put coins into the machine and twist the handle. Then you can get one. Many people enjoy getting unique prizes here. (Hina Nakane)

Koufukudou

I introduce a "daifuku shop" in a shopping mall "AEON." "Daifuku" is a Japanese sweet. It has a thin layer of rice cake and there is sweet redbean inside. At this shop, "Koufukudou", they make their own original redbeans. There days, they sell seasonal specialty daifukus like muscut and pione. They taste so good. Also, you can buy other kinds of Japanese sweets here. (Zahika)
